The purpose of the project is to create prerequisites for introducing new foods and increasing the consumption of products from local agricultural producers in kindergartens in the area of four partner LAGs from Zadar and Šibenik-Knin counties. The specific goal of the project is to increase the importance of a healthy diet from an early age and to encourage awareness of the inclusion of seasonal and local foods in preschool educational institutions through the promotion of local agricultural products and processed products.
Summary: “Local food to Kindergarten” is an inter-territorial cooperation project between four selected LAGs from Zadar and Šibenik-Knin counties: LAG “Laura”, LAG “Bura”, LAG “More 249” and LAG “Krka”. The joint activity of all project partners is the preparation of a study on the possibilities of increasing consumption and the introduction of new foods and products from local agricultural producers in preschool educational institutions. It is expected that the study will offer conclusions and recommendations on the best models and ways to increase the consumption of local and seasonal foods and products with the possibility of further application to other institutions that provide food service. Along with the preparation of the study, the project will implement educational culinary workshops for the kindergarten cooking staff and create a children’s cookbook. Information and networking activities will be organized for OPG representatives so that farmers can acquire the knowledge and skills needed to improve sustainable business and increase competitiveness. The implementation of the project will be accompanied by promotional activities that include the creation of educational and promotional materials and animated and promotional videos.
