LAG “Bura” finished the project “Sustainable rural tourism development on the example of Croatia” with partners from Poland LAG “Poleska Dolina Bug” and LAG “Polesie”.
On Friday, May 24 2019,LAG “Bura” hosted project partners in Jasenice Municipality. Opening speeches were held by the Mayor of JaseniceMartin Baričević and the president of LAG “Bura” Vladimir Dedić. Subsequently, manager of LAG “Bura” Ana Škara held an introductory presentation on LAG’s “Bura” projects and rural tourism. Presentations were also held by the director of the Jasenice tourist board, Petra Matek and the director of the Vrsi tourist board, Rafaela Maraš.
Conclusions of the project “Sustainable rural tourism development on the example of Croatia” are that rural tourism can be one of the possible solutions for revitalizing rural areas. It was established that tourism events increase business, income and employment in the region and help in social and economic development. As part of the project, bilingual tourist maps and postcards will be issued.
Manager of LAG “Bura”, Ana Škara, emphasizes that rural tourism has many potential benefits from incorporating employment growth, repopulation and revitalization of local crafts.
