LAG “Bura” was sponsored by the Zadar County, and in cooperation with the HVIDR-a association Zadar successfully implemented the project “Revitalisation of Lake Vlačine”. Jezero Vlačine is located in Suhovare in the Poličnik municipality. Area of the lake represents a unique location rich in flora and fauna, especially in ornithological significance. Solar panels were provided and volunteer workstations were set up to install solar panels on the installation facility and the recreational center. The HVIDR-a’s members have been made by the HVIDR-a and all the visitors to the lake can use it, which is extremely important in the organisation of fishing competitions.
The project “Revitalisation of Lake Vlačine” enabled the use of solar energy, which is the most acceptable type of renewable energy. Solar panels installed allow for energy to work on lighting fixtures, hand tools and refrigerator in the recreation center. Project work, equipment installation, landscaping is a voluntary contribution of applicants and project partners. The main beneficiaries of this project are the members of the Zadar “Škartoc” Fishing Club association and the members of the HVIDR-a association from Zadar. Also, the end users of the project are all visitors to the lake, fishermen, bird watchers.
Members of the Association of HVIDR Zadar in cooperation with the association of the Zadar Fishing Club “Škartoc” for the disabled maintain a lake throughout the year, the environment is extremely tidy and without any negative impact on nature, and the location is easily accessible and open to all nature lovers, freshwater fishermen fish and bird watchers. LAG “Bura” has recognised the potential and wealth of flora and fauna of this unique location.
The project “Revitalisation of the Lake Vlačine” is a step in the right direction to protect these exceptional sites protected by the Natura 2000 network and the Bird Conservation Area (POP) and serves us as a rare example of the wealth of fish stocks and bird species of the rural area.
