On Saturday 08.10. LAG Bura was visited by the project partners within the study visit of the “Doors to Europe” project LAG Ślężanie – Local Group Działania, Local Group Lider A4 and Local Group Działania Gromnik from the vicinity of Wroclaw in Poland. The goal of the project is the exchange of experience and good practices in the implementation of local development strategies, activation of local communities, with an emphasis on the development of tourist and recreational infrastructure, local product development and methods of promotion. LAG employees prepared presentations of previous projects and LAG competitions, and OPG Eugen Novaković from Posedarje also participated in the presentation as an example of good practice, who presented his fig products, cakes, sausages and also presented a novelty in production, protein coffee from figs without thein and caffeine.
All local self-government units in the area of LAG “Bura” are included in the project. In the Jasenica municipality hall, we organized a meeting where the achievements of the implementation of the Local Development Strategy of LAG “Bura” 2014-2020 were presented. After that, in the field part of the visit, we visited OPG Mirko Butić, tavern Butić in Briševo, where the project partners had the opportunity to try original Dalmatian products.
We ended the field visit with a visit to OPG by Sandra Babac, Šinjorina Smokva, who presented her production of organic jams without sugar and additives. The project partners were particularly enthusiastic about fig jam, since it is a plant that cannot be grown in Poland, and therefore their study day was organized in honor of the oldest and most famous Mediterranean plant – figs.
In the second stage of the project, representatives of LAG Bura and representatives of Municipalities LAG Bura had the opportunity to get acquainted with the LEADER projects of partner LAGs, tourist infrastructure and farmers in the vicinity of Wroclaw. Through joint cooperation and association, exchange of experience, we will achieve the transfer of specific knowledge and skills on a transnational level.
In the second stage of the project, from March 26 to March 30, 2023, representatives of the local self-government units of LAG “Bura” visited the area of the project partners in the vicinity of Wroclaw. They had the opportunity to visit one of the most important features of the area; Panorama museum for the battles of Raclawice, Skytower tower, Zapruga Museum, Gromnik mountain and several LEADER projects of partner LAGs, and participate in a workshop on making indigenous chocolate products. In the municipality of Mietków, a visit was organized to the Kozlonog goat farm, and we saw an exceptional example of the combination of agrotourism and rural tourism. The farm produces goat cheese, milk, honey, bread, natural cosmetic products, and also organizes group visits, team building and rural tourism. We had the opportunity to see a similar example in the “Nevino Polje” winery, financed through the LEADER project, where they created a harmony of agrotourism linked to winemaking and breeding domestic animals. As part of the study trip, we visited the town hall in Strzelin, which is under renovation, and met several municipal mayors. and the mayor and thus connected our local units of local governments with their Polish colleagues. In this way, we have created the possibility of connecting for the purpose of twinning units of local self-governments, and we hope that this cooperation will be successfully achieved, announced project manager and LAG Bura Ana Mamić. On March 29, 2023, the final conference of the project was held in Topacz Castle. Through the project, we concluded that solving the problem of distribution of local products must be a basic element of our local development strategies. Examples of good practice become our motivation to search for solutions to common problems. The cooperation project “Doors to Europe” brought another added value, namely the acquaintances and friendships established between the participants of the study visit and various local action groups, which will result in joint activities for the development of rural areas, Mamić said.
