LAG “Bura” hosts project partners from Czech Republic and France

As part of the Erasmus + project “Education of decision-makers and social service providers – quality in care”, LAG “Bura” hosted the project partners Mistni akcni skupina svateho Jana z Nepomuku (Czech Republic) and Syndicate de Lorge (France) from 17 September to 24 September 2017. The main objective of this project is to find an effective way of improving social services in rural areas. , Moreover, it improves the ability to respond to the changing needs of residents and services that are needed to the users. The long-term objective is an open social dialogue on the development of social services and the improvement of the quality of life of the inhabitants in LAG „Bura“. The project will result in a set of recommendations applicable in our area.

This project of co-operation and comparative analysis aimed at transferring “know how” examples of social welfare in the LAG “Bura” area and Zadar County. Partners and associates who welcomed LAG representatives and presented examples of good practice in the Zadar County are: Zadar County, Family House Giovanni in Vrsi, Home for the Adults Zemunik, Municipality of Zemunik Donji, Town of Obrovac, Home for the Adults Sv. Frane in Zadar, Vrsi Municipality, Novigrad Municipality, Croatian Employment Office in Zadar, Primary School Petar Zoranić Jasenice, Center for Psychosocial Aid to War Veterans in Zadar, Jasenice Municipality, Vrsi Tourist Board, Association “Janko Mitrović”. The president of LAG “Bura”, Leonardo Rončević, dipl.iur., points out that without partner institutions, synergies and joint work this project could not have been so successfully concluded. This was a good example of cooperation between various institutions, both private and state owned presenting LAG „Bura“’s area and area of the Zadar County.

Project coordinator Ana Škara, LL.M. states that this visit and workshop resulted in the exchange of experiences gained in three different countries, with new knowledge on providing social services, particularly in the rural areas. The reasons for this project are: to improve knowledge and to exchange examples of good practices in the field of social services in rural areas, and to implement new knowledge. After the last study trip, we will analyse social services system in Croatia, France and the Czech Republic and prepare the final project report that will be forwarded to the EU Commission.
