Ana Škara, LL.M. project coordinator of the Erasmus + project for LAG „Bura“ “Education of decision-makers and social service providers – quality in care” organized a learning visit for representatives from social service departments in LAG area to our Erasmus+ partners in Bretagne, France from 16.05.2017-23.05.2017. Project is funded by Erasmus+. One week stay in the French was organized by Syndicate de Lorge and their municipalities’ partners, representatives of the Ploeuc l’Hermitage, Plaintel, Saint Carreuc and Le Bodeo municipalities. They have prepared a comprehensive program for all the participants that allowed us to visit various social service institutions.
Due to local elections, many representatives of municipalities from LAG “Bura” area that were part of the first visit in the Erasmus+ project and visited Spalene Porici in Czech Republic were not able to attend the meeting in Bretagne. Therefore, the Croatian delegation was presented by the Director of the Home for the Adults in Zemunik, representatives of the House of St. Frane in Zadar, the headmaster of the primary school Petra Zoranića Jasenice, a representative of the psychiatric hospital in Ugljan and representatives of the association Spajalica.
Over the course of the week, we have established new and strengthened existing friendships with our French and Czech partners who are ready to collaborate on potential future projects as well as to further develop mutual relationships and cooperation among local communities and their associations in line with European Union policies.
We are grateful for the care we received from our hosts and the representatives of the institutions we visited. It presents a great honour to take part in a successful Erasmus + project that has enabled us to get to know the social system of Bretagne and previously the one of the Czech Republic. Moreover, we had the opportunity to visit the agro-cultural fair in Saint Brieuc and attend the horse show in Plaintel where the representatives of LAG „Bura“ as honorary guests were handing the awards to show winners.
As part of the last phase of the LAG Bura project, representatives from France and the Czech Republic will be hosted in our LAG 17.09.2017-24.09.2017. On this occasion we will present our model of providing social services in Zadar County and especially in the area represented by LAG “Bura”: the town of Obrovac, municipalities Jasenice, Zemunik Donji, Vrsi, Novigrad, Ražanac, Starigrad, Poličnik and Posedarje.
LAG “Bura” besides the development of agricultural services also wants to improve the development of social and living conditions in our LAG area, and apart from rural development projects, technical and administrative support to our agricultures’ we want to improve social services for our residents. By learning international models of social care services and the possibilities of implementing the same models in our area, our partnership with both foreign partners and institutions in our LAG is a step in the right direction.
