Manager of LAG “Bura”, Ana Mamić, participated in the Rural Pact conference “From vision to action: Empowering rural areas for the future”. The conference was held on September 16th-17th in Pecq near the city of Kortrijk in Belgium. Travel and accommodation expenses were borne by the European Commission. The first day of the conference was dedicated to defining the vision and establishing cooperation. It was opened by senior representatives of the European Commission, including Raffaele Fitt and Christophe Hansen. Through panels and presentations, it was discussed how the Rural Vision and the Rural Pact are implemented in the member states and what are the key challenges and opportunities for the future of rural areas. Rural Pact contributes to networking, participants from different organizations discussed key topics. I participated in discussions on the transfer of the Rural Pact to the local level through LEADER Local Action Groups (LAGs), rural tourism and smart villages. The discussions were extremely important for sharing experiences and planning future joint actions.
