Manager of LAG “Bura”, Ana Mamić, participated as a member of the thematic group EU CAP Network “Valuing Farmers’ Wider Contributions to Society” at the final meeting in Brussels on May 6, 2025. Transport and accommodation are financed by the EU CAP Network. The aim of the focus group was to discuss the multiple roles of farmers and their wider contribution to society, looking at concrete examples and case studies.
Collect insights, experiences, examples of good practice and innovative ideas from members of the Thematic Group on how the role of farmers is recognized and how it could be recognized in their country and/or across Europe.
Investigate existing and innovative ways of raising awareness and recognizing the wider social contribution of farmers, as well as how to give greater importance to the profile of the agricultural profession and attract new people to the field of agriculture. Croatia was also represented by Zoran Rajn from the Center for Social Innovation and Sustainable Development from Zagreb.
