EU CAP Network workshop ‘Circular bioeconomy – valorisation of forest by-products’

Manager of  LAG “Bura”, Ana Mamić participated in the conference under the auspices of the EU CAP Network ‘Circular bioeconomy – valorisation of forest by-products’ on 26.03 and 27.03 in the city of Kouvola, Finland. Croatia was also represented by Tajana Radić, head of the department for agricultural policy, innovation and international cooperation of the Croatian Chamber of Agriculture, also a representative of the EU CAP Network (Smart Farm Practices & Rural Development Officer), Vedran Šarić, project manager of the company Lika Ulaganje d.o.o., and Dario Gazić, project manager for the Energy Institute Hrvoje Požar. Representatives of DG Agri, the EU CAP Network and the European Commission gave lectures at the conference. Various field visits were organised, such as a visit to the largest paper factory in the world, StoraEnso, a visit to the factory of insulation material for residential buildings made of recycled materials, Ekovilla Oy, and we had the opportunity to see a presentation by the company Solid Waste, where mineral fertilizers are produced from waste sludge from factory waters. The conference was also attended by private forest owners and their association, who presented the forest management plan, the sale of forest trees for processing, and helicopter fertilisation of forests.
