LAG Bura, MAS St. Jan Nepomuk from the Czech Republic and the Syndicat de Lorge from France began their cooperation in the Erasmus+ to share experiences and to improve social services in their rural areas. The project titled “Education of decision-makers and social service providers – quality and care” is financed by the EU funds. Conference and first meeting of the working group were held in the Czech Republic in Spálené Poříčí from 21.03-28.03.2017. The project coordinator for LAG Bura is Ana Škara, LL.M.
Participants from the area of the LAG were representatives of the municipality Jasenice, municipality Novigrad, municipality Posedarje, municipality Vrsi, town of Obrovac, municipality Starigrad, a representative for the Home for adults Zemunik, a representative from AGGRA (Rural development agency for Zadar county) and representatives of the family home Perinić from Vrsi.
We had the opportunity to get acquainted with the examples of good practice Senior Express and neighbor +. Senior Express transports elderly people at an affordable price in order to improve their quality of life. Neighbor + is a system of development of services by neighbors in accordance with their abilities for the benefit of the community as a whole.
Meetings of the working group began by presenting and comparing the system of social services in the Czech Republic, Croatia and France. During the seven-day stay in the Czech Republic we visited various social welfare institutions as we ll as a farm”Angus Sobesuky”. In addition, we visited the Volunteer Center “Totem” in Nepomuk, Home for the care of older “Nepomuk”, Home for the elderly Vlčice, Crisis Center Archa in Plzen, infirmary “Kristian”.
This visit and workshop resulted in the exchange of experience acquired in three different countries, new findings on the provision of social services in rural areas. According to the project timeline in May 2017 there will be a meeting in to France to visit the municipality of Plœuc-sur-Lié.
As a part of this project LAG Bura will host the project partners from the Czech Republic and France in October 2017. We will introduce social welfare institutions in our rural area and make a comparison between Croatia, Czech and France systems. At the end of the final meetings and analysis of system of social services in three countries final report of the project will be made.
